The property was formerly the west lodge and entrance to the Brodsworth Estate. Brodsworth Hall, approximately two miles to the east from the lodge, was built in the 1860s for the Thellusson family and is now owned by English Heritage.
Brodsworth village is approximately five miles north west of Doncaster City Centre.
The Cottage is located in a rural position overlooking agricultural land and woodland approximately a mile west of the Village.
There are many recreational amenities within the surrounding areas including, Brodsworth Hall and Gardens, Hickleton Golf Club, Brodsworth Community Woodland and Adwick Leisure Complex.

Access is immediately off the public highway. The A1(M) motorway network is at J37 Marr 3.8 miles southeast and J38 Red House 3 miles northeast. Central Doncaster is 6.9 miles east, Leeds 32 miles northwest, Sheffield 22 miles southwest and Barnsley 12 miles west. Doncaster is on the East Coast mainline, with a regular rail service to London in under 1 hour 45 minutes.South Elmsall railway station is 4.5 miles northwest and Adwick le Street railway station is 4.2 miles east.
