Want to bid at one of our auctions?
We offer a comprehensive bidding service to ensure that you won't miss out on bidding on a great property.
We offer three methods or bidding:
- Telephone: a member of the auctions team will call you live in the auction room and you instruct us to bid for you
- Internet: this allows you to view the auction live and bid online in real time
- Proxy: you can authorise the Auctioneer to bid on your behalf to a specified amount
How to register for bidding
Register to bid online. In order to successfully register for bidding you will need to provide us with the following information:
- Details of all bidders/buyers/deposit payers
- Identification documents
- Details of your solicitor
A member of the Savills Auctions team will be in touch when we receive your bidding request.
Bidding online
- To bid, log into our website on the auction day and follow the links to bid on/watch the auction.
- When the lot(s) comes up that you have registered to bid on, you will be able to interactively place your bid using the increments the auctioneer introduces.
- We highly recommend checking you have a stable internet connection before joining the online auction.
Bidding by telephone
- Please make sure that the contact number you have registered with is the one that you would like to be contacted on the day.
- You will be called by a Savills approved bidder when the lot(s) you have registered to bid on come up in the auction. You can follow the auction live on our website to see which lot we are on at any given time.
- Your telephone bidder will relay the increments as they happen in the room, confirming whether you would like to bid or not and will submit bids upon your instruction.
- We highly recommend watching the auction live on our website as well so you can see what’s going on in the room.
If you are successful
- A deposit of 10% of the purchase price together with and our buyers fee (£250 inc VAT below £20,000 and £1,750 inc VAT at and above £20,000) will be payable on the day via bank transfer if you are successful in your bid.
- You will not be able to bid on lots you have not registered on. To add more lots once you are registered to bid simply go to My Account > Auction Approvals.
- If you have registered to bid on several lots by telephone, you will be called before each one.
- If your account is still pending activation, it is because we are missing vital information from you. Please make sure you have provided all the required information and ID before submitting for registration.
