Located on one of the most picturesque reaches of the River Thames, Hallsmead Ait is a verdant island situated just upstream of Reading, between Caversham and Sonning. This tranquil stretch of the river is well known for its unspoilt natural beauty, with sweeping views across the water and a rich variety of wildlife along its banks. The affluent village of Sonning is within three miles downstream. Reading town centre is within five miles to the west, and Oxford lies about 27 miles to the north-west. Although closest to the Oxfordshire bank, the island is technically in Berkshire.
Reading mainline railway station is just two miles to the west, offering direct services to London Paddington in under 30 minutes. The property is well connected by road, with the A4 around one mile away and the M4 (Junction 10) approximately seven miles distant. London Heathrow Airport is about 28 miles to the east.
