Planning
SAVILLS PLANNING TEAM HAVE REPORTED THE FOLLOWING
The lot's most recent planning history came in 2010 where
a change of use application was approved to convert the former pottery workshop to kitchens and a dining area ancillary to the bunkhouse and coffee shop. There is therefore evidence of Highland Council supporting a change of use at the site. The site offers a variety of development opportunities including further commercial and retail opportunities or a change of use to residential
properties. In terms of tourism, the properties could also have potential as
short-term let accommodation subject to the necessary consents. These
opportunities could be delivered via a Change of Use application to Highland
Council. Any opportunities would have to consider impacts such as travel
generation, however, in principle the re-use of existing properties is
supported by National Planning Framework 4 and the Highland-Wide
Local Development Plan. For further information about the planning
process, we would be happy to put you in touch with our colleagues in the
Savills Planning team.
